The bar is used to help you get your arms and upper body into the correct “A Pose” for scanning, and to help you keep your arms still during the scan. You grip the white ends in each hand, making a fist, and let the bar rest across the front of your body wherever that falls naturally when holding your arms straight and relaxed.
